      Halloween Safety
      (Even for Superheroes)
With goblins, princesses and many other creatures roaming the streets this Halloween, safety and fun should be top priority. HLCP wants to offer you common sense safety tips to make this 2007 Halloween the best ever.

        • Walk, slither or sneak on the sidewalks, not in the streets.
        • Look both ways for cars, horses and low flying brooms before crossing the street.
        • Cross the street at corners and crosswalks only.
        • Don’t hide behind or cross the street next to parked cars.
        • Wear light-colored or reflective clothing so others can see costumes easily (Ghosts, this is your time to really glow!)
        • Always have an adult and flashlight to accompany trick-or-treaters.
        • Make sure to stay away from fires and candles because costumes can be extremely flammable.
        • Only go to houses that are well-lit; never go inside.
        • Substitute masks with fun face paint so you can use your x-ray vision successfully.
        • Don’t talk to strangers or approach unfamiliar animals.
        • Remember to always check the candy for tampering prior to eating. If you aren’t sure, throw it away.
